Organizational Culture

The organization had a culture where micromanagement was typically not done and where individuals were valued for their capabilities and the results produced. Of course, there were exceptions. The CEO was a charismatic person who liked people but also valued hard work and honesty. He was a good motivational leader and knew all aspects of the telecommunications business better than anyone else in the organization. His charisma was demonstrated by getting personnel who were well established in their careers with established companies to take a career risk by resigning their position and joining a startup company. He also had the ability to boost employee morale when situations became difficult by giving highly motivational speeches and offering sound advice and additional resources where needed. Other lists of vulnerabilities are often a better reflection of actual risks, since they will list problems that the vendor has chosen to ignore and problems that are there by design.
